Why we are turned on by out-of-character "darkness"

Published almost 2 years ago • 1 min read

Calling those who get aroused by things that go against their everyday characters, identity, and even self worth.

Just like our fairytales, woven through the human erotic psyche are themes of power abuse, revenge, humiliation and violence.

And just like fairytales, these sexual fantasies play an important psychological function.

When we are unaware of their function they leak into our everyday behaviour and into our sexual encounters in wobbly, unconscious, and sometimes harmful ways.

What is more, when we blindly follow, or suppress, these desires, we miss the point. We get caught in a cycle that can bring a high, but does not ever truly satiate, needing hit after hit. Or we cut off a vital source of richness within us and become unbalanced.
That is, incomplete. Not whole.

When we are aware and can play with our desires and fantasies purpose, they can be portals to the rich fullness of our being. There is deep magic in embodying yin yang wholeness.

Do you want to re-enchant your sex life with the power of fantasy brought to life through symbolic play?

Private Mentoring: Calling sex workers, pro dominants and others who seek erotic mastery - or should I say mistressy. Honestly, I would have given my eye teeth for this opportunity! But to be fair, that is because Navigating the Erotic Psyche is designed to cater to exactly the things I love most, and are simply not available elsewhere. I designed it with younger me in mind. I asked myself, what would have supported me the most in learning the inner workings of the erotic psyche? And, how...

Do you want to understand, and experience, the psychology behind sexual fantasies and how to play with them on purpose? If you are anything like me, the dominant models attempting to explain sexual fantasies just don't cut it. Most frameworks say something like: 1. "Sexual fantasies are private, and harm no one. They are your brain's way of making you feel good. Therefore, don't judge them and just enjoy them." Really? You want me to not think about them? That's your solution? But I want to...
